Everyone is talking about the typhoon ondoy...a lot of people suffered from this disastrous ondoy...so much has been said about it...everyone is blaming the government about it...victims are asking help...how can we help in our own little way?
I had never seen such typhoon in national capital region like this. Much more had not seen from my very own eyes and experienced walking along ortigas extension with a flooded water last saturday (september 26, 2009). I don't have any choice but to walk in a flooded area coz if not I will be a helpless mother to my son and a helpless daughter to my mom on that day. I strongly had fought the fear of being drowned in that half-bodied flood water. I can never imagine that from that day on I will have a very traumatic experience of the flood which will be kept in my heart and mind.
Actually, our place was not affected but I was able to experience walking the flooded area of ortigas extension. I can never forget that tragic experience. How much more the affected areas and the people who also fought for their lives that day. I can never imagine it will abruptly happened.
After that disastrous typhoon, I was able to go to evacuation centers and the pictures above are the aftermath of the said typhoon. We were able to give relief goods. I had seen straight from my very own eyes how the people lost their living. I had seen also that our government is doing no good of the rescue operations and the distributions of the relief goods. There are only part of the victims area are given (coded) and what about the other victim areas? It is very sad to know that less expectations can be thought of our government in times like this. When will our government learn from this disastrous calamity? I think my queries will remain unanswered until the next one will happen...(so sad)
